11-5-15 Estate Sale in Loxahatchee---
Today Angie and I went to a preview sale at a large estate sale in Loxahatchee.  It was about a 40 minute drive from Coral Springs, but it was a pleasant ride.   By the time we got there, it felt like we were really out in the country!  We were even driving on gravel roads!
 And there were pine trees.
 And huge yards.
It was such a pretty day.
 gotta love the scrubby pines!
The estate was of a local restaurateur.  A large portion of his personal property was being sold.  Most of the items were from his Wild West themed restaurant, Gary's Stagecoach Junction, which closed a few years ago.  There were 4 outer buildings filled to the brim with stuff: dishes, restaurant quality appliances, old signs, a trailer full of old whiskey decanters, old western decor, and tons of other stuff.   We arrived about 1 1/2 hours early and chatted with the others already there.  We were actually #25 in line.  About 30 minutes before it was to start, a Channel 5 news guy came out to make a newscast about the sale and whose it was.
They even had full size animal replicas in the front yard, so he hopped up on a horse and practiced until he came up with a news worthy western spiel.  It was funny watching him come up with the speech while messing up time after time, then suddenly say it all perfectly right before the sale was to start.
Angie found a few items.  I mostly sat outside with her pile of stuff making sure the other "dealers" didn't try and take it.  It was interesting watching the buyers scurry here and there.  It was a beautiful afternoon just to be outside!  Here looking back towards the main house was a heart shaped tree---I couldn't help myself, I had to take a picture.
back on the dirt road and heading past farmlands.
I finished the evening off by heading to Loxahatchee park near our apartment to watch sunset.
