March 5, 2016---chopping down a tree!

Yep!  Today we cut down a tree.  Actually Ken did most of the cutting.  I pushed it the right direction!  Then I stacked the branches and logs as he cut it into more pieces.  Why---because it was in Angie and Josh's back yard and it was dead and the Realtor said it had to come out.  So while the "kids" were hauling their first load of stuff to Atlanta, and we were granddog sitting for the weekend, we decided to do what we could to help.
We actually started with a super overgrown weed.  While I stuffed the leaves and stems into bags, Ken pushed it over, roots and all.  Yes, a weed tree!

 Then we moved on to the dead tree.

 Ken thought he could sit on it and take a break---that didn't work out too well!

 We did get it all stacked and I even got all the thin stuff into yard disposal bags.  Only ended up with corporal tunnel syndrome in my right hand for a couple days from cutting most of it into a million short pieces with hand shears and stuffing the million branches into bags.  Ken found more trees to work on by the other side of the yard while I took care of the now downed tree.

The yard is getting in shape!
