March 24, 2016---moving day for Micky and Molly!
Time for the granddogs to head north. Since Micky never moved before (other then when he was adopted), Angie asked if we would go with her. It was a great chance for us to go check out apartments, so we said sure. So we loaded up their 3rd 5x8 U-haul trailer full of stuff and took off mid morning of Thurs, the 24th.
Looking at the trailer, you wouldn't think it could hold much, but packed full they do hold quite a bit. This time the washer and drier, a rather large computer desk, an outside table and 2 chairs, a wicker lounger, and about 20 more large boxes went---I think I'm even forgetting a few things! We're wondering if we can get all of our 1 bedroom apartment stuff in one this size?
Going to miss our greeting at the glass sliding doors every time Micky sees us. That dog can jump!
I'm sure he's going to miss his big water bowl, too. Molly will miss barking at the neighbor's cat. They both are going to miss barking at all the dog walkers on the other side of their back yard fence---and I'm sure all the dog walkers are going to miss that, too! Now to schedule a power wash of the pool deck and roof.
Micky isn't too sure. Molly is an old pro at this now and probably envisioning her new back yard----2 acres, lots of trees, grass to roll on, ... . Wonder if she was surprised when she saw the new little yard with no trees and a 7' privacy fence? I know Micky was.
Gotta love Florida drivers! How does this happen?! Didn't even get 50 miles away and had to sit in traffic!
Angie thought Micky might like the security of his cage, but he wouldn't go in it. Molly snuck in there for a few minutes, but quickly came back out.
We thought we'd drive through the windshield washer at one of our stops, but it was pretty pathetic.
Have you ever heard a dog panting after it ran full speed for about 100 miles? Well that's what Micky sounded like for about 10.75 hours of our 11 hour drive! I'm surprised he didn't hyper-ventilate!
It was a pretty ride most of the way with all the wild flowers and trees leafing out.
Wish we had a spatula like that to put on our vehicle!
Micky still panting and Molly getting squashed.
Lots of farms in northern Florida and Georgia.
Lots of cows, too.
Wonder what a bus from St. Louis was doing here---going back from Spring Training?
Micky almost fell asleep, then woke himself and started panting again.
About 7 hours into our trip we hit Georgia.
No more palm trees, now a bunch of pine trees.
Quaint little church
We hit lots of rain in Georgia, but it let up as we were going around Atlanta and produced a beautiful sunset.
Along with Josh, we had a toad greet us at there new place in Suwanee, Georgia.
