Jan. 30, 2015---Deerfield beach and art festival:
Yea! We finally got back to the beach! Only for a couple hours, but it was nice sitting there looking out over the blue ocean. Didn't bother trying to swim in it, but noticed there were many people who were! I heard later the water temp. was still around 74.
Near our place there are still some farmlands, although developement in the area is exploding. Anyway, for now, we like taking the route that takes us by the farmlands and down Loxahatchee Road whenever we're going to the beach. Not sure, but we think the taller plants are sugar cane. We didn't find out until just recently that there has been a lot of sugar cane grown down here.
The farmlands and Loxahatchee take us about 5 of the 13 or so miles to our piece of Heaven on Deerfield Beach.
love watching the waves
and the beautiful ever changing clouds.
brown pelican flying near us.
There were signs up pointing to an art show when we went towards the parking lot. So we decided to check it out. This happened to be from a local grade school.
There were some pretty interestng idea for artwords in here. Too bad photography wasn't allowed in the booths.
almost bought some popcorn, but it turned out to be kettle corn and was pretty expensive.
There was even music playing. They weren't half bad.
I really enjoyed this guys music---Kraig Kenning, National slide guitar champion.
walking back through on our way to the car.
We didn't know there was an art fair going on, or Ken probably wouldn't have gone. But I enjoyed the walk through the booths. Look like a lot of people were also checking them out, but we saw very little being bought. Even the weather cooperated for us all!
