It was another week and time for Angie and myself to go on another photo expedition. She had read somewhere about a "birding" trail not too far from Coral Springs called Fern Forest. So we decided to check it out. It was a beautiful winter day, cool and dry; but the "birding" here was not good. We did have fun, though, wandering around the park.
Near the parking lot
The main building where there is a stage area with elevated seating and a banquet hall above. I understand there are weddings done here.
a weird sculpture by the main building
one of the critters we saw here.
Not many board walks here. Most of it is along nice pathways like this.
There are some wetlands there, but not much
wild flowers
colorful leaves.
a good size fish trying to hide out under a leaf.
I think this is a Florida racer?
the speedy little guy again.
did see several of these guys there.
and a few cooters.
more along the pathway.
interesting textures and shapes
prairie perimeter
interesting plant
another elevated platform
cactus along the way
a tourist tree---it turns red and peels.
wild berries
the board walk up to the elevated platform. Suppose to get birds' eye views of the birds, but there were no birds.
interesting wild flowers
more interesting wild flowers
Just when we made it back to the car, a yellow rump warbler appeared to tease us.
