12-3-15 back to Sea Gardens---this time in a 2 bedroom Ocean Palms unit.
Last reservation to burn up the rest of this year's Wyndham points. This time I took the free upgrade to a 2 bedroom unit. The studios are nice, but having a bedroom and 2 bathrooms is even nicer! But best of all, is having a heated pool and a jacuzzi. Of course, it started raining so the beach was a drab gray. No sunsets, no playing in the surf. Even the holiday parade that was scheduled for Pompano was cancelled due to the weather. By the time we left the next day, there was a lot of flooding. But until then, I did enjoy the pool and jacuzzi and we even met Angie and Josh for dinner in Pompano at Bobbi Rubino's Place for Ribs: http://www.bobbyrubinos.com/ . We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinners, even though our service wasn't the greatest.
I also noticed some more of the fish sculptures around Pompano.
So I decided to look them up and see what they are all about. Apparently they're Pompanos! The city paid $42,000 to have the 12 polyurethane sculptures made, then
solicited artists to decorate them in all manner of bright-hued whimsy
for $1,500 apiece.
I only saw these 3 while we were driving to the resort, so will have to go back one of these days and look for the other 9. They're suppose to be there for about another 1 1/2 years.
We got to Sea Gardens a little before 4. I've pretty much learned they never have rooms ready by 4. Supposedly VIPs can check in as early as 2, but that's not happening here! When my sister and I stayed here, we couldn't check in until after 6pm! Anyway, we finally got our keys about 4:30. I was a little disappointed we were on the canal side of the building, but it was such a drab day it didn't really matter. From the other side, you can see the ocean if you're high enough and see the landscaping of the resort. But for 1 night, it was ok.

Angie and Josh had talked about joining us to use the jacuzzi after dinner, but with it being so rainy, they decided just to head home after dinner. Glad I went to the pool and jacuzzi when we got checked in.
