March 12, 2016---another Cardinals spring training game!

We were suppose to be going to this game with Angie and Josh.  But they decided to move to Suwanee, Ga. then instead!  At least Josh took up residency then since he started his new job on Monday the 14th.  So we "helped" them load up another trailer full of stuff and they headed on their way ---Josh in his car towing the trailer and Angie in her car so Josh has something to drive when she brings the trailer and his car back on Tues.  Fortunately for Josh, Angie's car now has 4 new tires.  Unfortunately for them, that came about with 3 trips to tire stores on their way there!  So Ken and I went to the Cardinal game by ourselves.  It started out quite boring!  Cardinals couldn't do anything!  But they finally came alive in about the 8th inning and actually won in the 9th on a really bizarre play----we had bases loaded, one out; our guy hit a ball to the infield; the throw was to home for the out; the catcher tried to get the double play at first; his throw hit our runner and rickashayed away and our runner on 2nd went all the way home.
This time we sat on the 3rd base side.  Got a lot more air at the top of the stands since there wasn't a plastic ad across the back.  It was a hot sunny day, but at least we had a nice breeze.
Nice view of our bench from here.
  Even saw Wainright pitch!
lovely view from my seat. Fortnately, since we had extra seats, we were able to move over.
 happy Cardinals

Peaceful protesters!!!!!---so that's how it's suppose to be done!
Love the Cardinals painted on a nearby building.

March 3---Spring Training Cardinal game!:

Before Angie and Josh knew they were moving, they bought tickets to the Cardinals' home opener Spring training game down here in Jupiter--about an hour from Coral Springs.  I was excited to get to go to another "birding" outing---my beloved Cardinals!  I had never been to a Spring Training game until last year.  I've been to many regular Cardinal games and although they're fun to go to, I figure you go to regular games to people watch and enjoy the atmosphere.  To watch the games you turn on the tv!  But Spring Training games are in a much smaller stadium and the games are like "warm up" games----lots of substitutions, lots of errors, lots of fun.

Yea for all our World Series Championships---time to win again!
I'd never heard of most of the players.  Every year seems to start out that way.
I think this is our new fledgling catcher learning from Molina.
We even got to see the Clydesdales!
Josh's Mom and Dad were in town from St. Louis and went with us.  Always nice seeing them!
Unfortunately Angie spent most of the time on her phone texting back  and forth with a Realtor in Atlanta about a house they wanted to rent---getting all the contract stipulations squared away.
 Another hit!
 And he's------------------out.  Dang it!
But we still won!  It was a good game.

And we're going again next weekend.  Well, some of us.  The in-laws went back home and Angie and Josh are moving more stuff up to Atlanta.

2015-9-5---Cardinal game with Bailey's

On our final full day there (and a main reason why we came back at this time), we headed downtown to the Cardinal game.  It was great seeing our friends from Oregon!  The air conditioned party room for the afternoon game was welcoming, too!  The Cardinals even won for us!
We hadn't even seen Ball Park Village before now!
 Our Oregonian friends.
He even had an ice cream dessert cart come in.

 Ken getting in the spirit.
That pretty well filled up 2 weeks in St. Louis.

June 25, 2015---Marlins/Cardinal game!

We found out that "seniors" get in free on Thursdays.  So when the Cardinals came to town, Angie and  Josh took us to the game.  I was surprised when we got to our seats and they were about 6 rows from the field!  I guess it shouldn't be too surprising--by giving us those free, Angie and Josh had to pay the premium of $33 @ to sit by us.  They didn't mind, though.  Those seats would have been a whole lot more in St. Louis.

Loved that the stadium was air conditioned, too!  Must cost a fortune!!!!
The Cardinals even honored us with a win.  They're having quite a season!
